Who's Afraid of Me, Myself & Edward Albee?
Timeline
1995 - While attending undergraduate at San Diego State University, playwright Matt Thompson meets Edward Albee while performing in the Juries 1995.
1996 - The fifteen minute play Apemantus is presented at the Actor's Alliance Festival of San Diego
1997 - The play is expanded to thirty minutes and produced by The Plutonium Theatre of San Diego.
1998 - The play is produced at The Sweet Lies Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
1999 - The play is produced by The Road Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
2003 - The play is made into a 16mm short film entitled Apemantus. The film plays in during the Cannes Festival in Cannes, France in 2004.
2004 - The play is expanded once again to one hour in length and is presented as a staged reading at The White Fire Theatre in Los Angeles.
2006 - The plays received a professional staged reading
2007 - The play receives a professional staged reading at Compass Theatre in San Diego, California.
2008 - Matt Thomspon expands the play to it's current length and changes the title to Who's Afraid of Me, Myself & Edward Albee?
2009 - Playwright Matt Thompson is reaquainted with Mr. Edward Albee. The two open a dialogue about the play. One afternoon the two chat for nearly an hour as Thompson draws material from his encounter. The two begin to exchange letters regarding the content of the play.
2009 - With new additions and insight from Mr. Albee, the play receives a professional staged reading at North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach, California.
2011 - The play receives a professional staged reading at Encinitas Theatre Consortium in Encinitas, California.
2013- The play is accepted into the Fresh Fruit Festival in New York.
2013 - The play receives a professional staged reading at ion Theatre in San Diego, California.
2013 - The play is accepted into the FringeNY Festival where it will run in August 10-16, 2013.
